Yes, you can vacuum seal ice cream, but this requires some precautions and considerations.
First, we need to make sure the ice cream is frozen solid before we vacuum seal it.
This will help maintain its shape and prevent it from being crushed during the vacuum sealing process or hindering the sealing process.
(1) Use a suitable container
We recommend using a freezer container that can withstand low temperatures rather than vacuum sealing the ice cream directly. Please choose a container with an airtight lid to ensure proper sealing.
(2) Transfer ice cream
Scoop the ice cream into the container, make sure the capacity of the container is larger than the ice cream, to prevent expansion after freezing.
(3) Frozen ice cream
Put the container of ice cream in the freezer and let it freeze completely until it becomes a firm solid before taking it out.
Once the ice cream is completely frozen, we can begin the vacuum sealing process.
(1) Take out the ice cream and put it in a vacuum sealer
Remove the completely firm ice cream from the refrigerator and place the lid securely on the container.
If using a manual sealer, place the container in a vacuum seal bag.
Depending on the type of vacuum sealing machine, the method of use is also different, please refer to the product manual you purchased for operation.
(2) Sealed container
Follow the instructions provided with your vacuum sealer to properly seal the container.
The vacuum sealing process will remove excess air and create an airtight seal around the ice cream, helping to prevent freezer burn.
Immediately after vacuum sealing, return the container to the freezer to keep the ice cream frozen.
While vacuum sealing helps extend the shelf life of the ice cream and prevents freezer burn, this makes it possible to slightly affect the texture and consistency due to the air being drawn.
